Who we are
I’m a fiber artist, handknitter, and published author with more than 25 years of experience. Since 2006, I’ve worked in knowledge management and content strategy across academic and healthcare settings. At Flower City Fibers, I bring those worlds together, exploring how making connects us to tradition, creativity, and one another.
Named for my hometown of Rochester, New York (known as the Flower City) the brand is rooted in the same spirit that defines the region: creativity that blooms from deep, enduring roots. Just like those lilacs that return each spring, Flower City Fibers grew from a love of handcrafted work, a respect for time-honored technique, and a desire to keep the fiber arts thriving in the modern world.
Through thoughtfully produced tutorials, pattern design, and community-centered storytelling, Flower City Fibers celebrates fiber artistry as both a heritage craft and a mindful practice. Every stitch is an invitation to slow down, create with purpose, and find beauty in the process.
